Best Stocky alternatives for Shopify (2026) — compared by job

Compare Shopify native inventory tools, reorder planning and receipt-cost reporting after Stocky. Use a practical workflow checklist to evaluate alternatives.

lcCode builds RestockRadar and CostLedger. This guide compares the jobs involved in replacing Stocky and identifies when our apps may fit. Start with Shopify’s native workflow and test any additional tool against your own store, import files and reporting needs.

## Start with Shopify’s current native tools

Stocky’s APIs and inventory-management functions stopped on August 31, 2026. Shopify’s migration guide now covers native purchase orders, inventory transfers, receiving and Sidekick-assisted reordering. The old claim that Shopify only handles counting is no longer accurate.

Try a representative purchase order and inventory movement in the native workflow first. Verify the features available to your store and staff. Historical Stocky purchase orders do not automatically migrate, and native PO CSV uploads do not recreate old received quantities or statuses.

## Compare by the decision you need to make

Inventory operations

Evaluate native Shopify receiving, purchase orders and transfers first. If you need barcode, bin or count workflows beyond that, test a specialist with your actual scanning devices and locations. Verify permissions, supported devices and reconciliation behavior before switching.

A focused reorder dashboard

RestockRadar groups reorder needs and explains quantities using recent sales, lead time, safety days and order cover. Manual minimums help with limited history. Pro adds supplier-grouped PO drafts and CSV export; drafting does not send an order. Test seasonal demand and shelf caps rather than treating the estimate as a promise.

Receipt costs and reporting

CostLedger maintains a dated, cumulative receipt-weighted cost ledger. Pro includes estimated monthly COGS, current valuation and margin reports; Plus includes supported PO PDF imports and exports. It does not provide FIFO, lot accounting, a closed-period journal or automatic accounting-system posting.

## Use the same evaluation for every candidate

  1. Write down the job. Specify whether you need purchasing, barcode operations, replenishment planning, cost history or an accounting integration. A feature name alone is not evidence that a workflow fits.
  2. Test input quality. Use an actual export structure with sample data. Verify SKU matching, currency, date handling, quantities, partial receipts and duplicate protection before importing real records.
  3. Inspect a calculation. Use a steady seller and a seasonal SKU. Ask what happens with limited sales history, incoming stock, returns and missing costs.
  4. Check the purchase boundary. Find out whether a tool produces a draft, sends it to a supplier, changes Shopify stock or records cost. Confirm each step separately.
  5. Check total cost and limits. Compare the live plan for your SKU count, locations, users, reports and exports. Vendor pricing changes; use current listing terms instead of an old comparison-table price.
  6. Reconcile and retain evidence. Keep a source export, resulting report, as-of time and known gaps. Confirm what can be exported if you later change tools.

## Evaluate broader alternatives when your needs require them

For additional candidates, browse Shopify’s inventory optimization category. Use the live listings and vendor documentation to compare current features, pricing, reviews and eligibility. Choose a broader planning or operations suite when its verified workflow fits needs the focused apps above do not cover.

## Two example selection decisions

You mainly need to receive stock and prepare POs: test Shopify’s native tools first. Add an app only for a specific missing workflow you can demonstrate.

You need to inspect changing supplier costs and review replenishment separately: evaluate a receipt-ledger tool and a reorder workflow independently. Matching two apps by vendor does not prove integration behavior or accounting completeness.

Preserve and map your Stocky records, then work through a reorder calculation before committing to a new purchasing routine.
